Chinese smartphone manufacturers have found a potential second home in the form of the Indian domestic market, and rightfully so with the market being one of the most emerging ones on the planet. One such manufacturer making a name for itself in the market in recent times is Gionee, and more so now with the official release of the new Gionee Elife E7 Mini.
The Elife E7 Mini debuted in India, alongside its bigger sibling the Elife E7, back in December 2013. The new device, according to the official press release for the same, "comes with built in 12 Levels of Auto Beauty feature to ensure that the user will always look flawless in every picture."
The Elife E7 mini also offers a host of promising and innovative yet useful modes for the photography lovers including the Eraser mode, Panorama shot, Gesture Mode and HDR Mode which enables a superior picture capturing experience.
"The response to Elife E7 has been incredible, and we're excited for customers to experience the new ELife E7 mini as we think customers will love these thin, light, powerful new smartphone's." said Mr. Arvind.R.Vohra, Gionee Smartphones - India head.
Gionee Elife E7 Mini - Highlighted Specifications
The Gionee Elife E7 Mini comes with 4.7-inch IPS IGZO display with a 720x1280 pixels resolution. The device is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6592 processor alongside a Mali 450MP4 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the company's custom Amigo 2.0 UI layer on top, very similar to its elder counterpart, the Gionee Elife E7. And for the sake of comparison, the previous Gionee Elife E7 was a single SIM device, while the mini-variant supports dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) functionality.
However, the highlight of the new Gionee phone is its flip camera. The Gionee Elife E7 comes with a 13-megapixel camera which comes with rotating capabilities, something quite similar to the previously released Oppo N1.
The device's camera "is a great for selfie lover as having just one camera means that front-facing shots are finally just as good as shots taken with a rear camera."
"Further the Elife E7 mini camera lens comes enabled with Blue Glass Filter which effectively filters infrared and gives more natural and clearer images."
Apart from that, the device comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, although it is non-expandable. Connectivity options on the Elife E7 Mini include Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/A-GPS and 3G. It comes with dimensions 139.8x66.2x8.6mm and weighs 142.9 grams.
The Elife E7 Mini also packs a 2200mAh battery, which is said to deliver up to 18 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time.
