Gionee Elife E7 Mini Vs Samsung Galaxy Grand 2: The Next Big Smartphone Battle on Cards
Smartphones come is all shapes and sizes in recent times, with each manufacturer focussing on different aspects of technology. However, it still remains needless to be said that owing to the recent advances in technology, we have successfully made a jump from feature phones to smartphones.
While there are a number of manufacturers currently conducting business in the Indian domestic market, keeping aside all the India-based vendors, some of the names like Apple and Samsung have already imposed their authorities on the market.
And we are taking Samsung for the time being for its somwhat recent Galaxy Grand 2 handset.

But while Samsung is having a good time in the Indian market with its brand name, there are a number of smartphone makers that are trying to get a bite of that popularity via their own offerings. And one such vendor is the China-based Gionee with Elife E7 Mini offering.
So how does both of the devices count up against each other in the race? Let's take a closer look at the offered specs for both the devices.
Operating System
In terms of the operating systems that have been offered for both the devices, there's not much to choose from since both the devices arrive running the Google-based Android platform.

And as expected, both the devices come running on Android version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Display and Dimensions
The Gionee Elife E7 Mini sports a 4.7-inch IGZO capacitive touch screen, while rendering 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. Also, the device's overall dimensions measure up to 139.8 x 66.2 x 8.6 mm.
The Samsung-made Galaxy Grand 2, comparatively, comes with a greater 5.25-inch alongside a TFT capacitive touch screen, while also rendering 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The device's overall dimensions measure up to 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm.
Camera
The Gionee Elife E7 Mini, in terms of camera, offers a 13-megapixel primary rotating camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 4160 x 3120 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device doesn't come with a secondary camera though as the rotating lens serves that purpose.

The Samsung-made Galaxy Grand 2, on the other hand, sports a lesser 8-megapixel primary camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a secondary 1.9-megapixel camera on board that will be more than enough for all the selfies.
Processing Power
As far as the in-device horsepowers are concerned, both the devices offer decent hardware specifications that are capable of powering the devices efficiently.
While the Gionee Elife E7 Mini is equipped with a octa core 1.7 GHz processor, its Samsung counterpart powers up the Galaxy Grand 2 via a 1.2 GHz quad core Cortex A7 processor.

Storage and RAM
The Gionee Elife E7 Mini offers 1GB of RAM to users while offering the device in a 16 GB internal memory variant. However, sadly enough, there's no option to expand the device's memory as an external microSD slot for additional memory is missing.
The Galaxy Grand 2, on the other hand, offers 1.5 GB of RAM while offering the device in a 8GB internal memory variant. However, the device comes with the option of extending the memory up to 64GB via an external memory slot.
Battery
While the Gionee Elife E7 Mini juices up the Jelly Bean-powered device via a 2200 mAh battery, the Galaxy Grand 2 comes sporting a greater 2600 mAh battery.
Price
The Gionee Elife E7 Mini has been currently priced at Rs 18,249 for aspiring customers, while the Galaxy Grand 2 has been priced at Rs. 20,498.
Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 might be a great option for users and more so since it has the Samsung tag to it. However, if gone under the hood, it seesm like the Gionee offering almost easily takes away the competition here with its octa core offering.
And an octa core offering will be greater than a quad core any time. Moreover, the device also has an improved and rotating camera that's too much of a competition for the Samsung made device to handle.
