According to the report, the Chinese smartphone maker Gionee is planning to launch its next flagship smartphone in June this year.
In an interview with The Time of India, the company president William Lu, also revealed that the upcoming flagship won't be an upgrade of the Elife E7, but will be a completely redesigned device, which will "compete with the best."

Expected to be codenamed as Gionee Elife E8, it will debut the Indian market soon after the International launch. Lu also shared that Gionee is working on the Lollipop 5.0 update for its smartphones including Elife E7, Moreover, the E7 will be getting the update in May or June this year.
And other devices will receive the Lollipop 5.0 update from this month. On the other side Elife S7 smartphone is all set to debut in the Indian market on April 4.
It is clocked at 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6752 processor along with 2GB RAM. On the internal storage, it comes with 16GB of internal memory with no expansion slot in it.
Moving to the camera, it has 13MP rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX214 sensor, 8MP front facing camera for selfies. This dual SIM mobile carries a dimension of 139.8×67.4×5.5mm and weighs around 126grams.

Moreover, on the connectivity, it supports options like 4G LTE / 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, GPS and powered by a 2750mAh battery under the hood. Coming in Black, White, BLue and Pink variants, this will hit the market shelves on April 4.
