Considering the fact that the Indian Smartphone market is quite an open and exciting one, a number of smartphone manufacturers have flooded the market with their own host of devices with an aim to reach the top of the pile.
The smartphone market, while it's already filled with a host of foreign companies apart from the ones based in India, has recently been subjected to a number of smartphone vendors from China. These include the likes of Gionee, Oppo and Lenovo.
Taking Gionee and Oppo into consideration for the time being, both the companies have now come up with their own set of devices, dubbed Elife S5.5 and Find 7, respectively.
While both the companies are China-based, both have their own agendas in the market with the new devices also trying to make the best out of the current situation in the market.
So how does both these devices stand against each other? Let's take a look at the comparison.
Nothing much to choose from in this respect since both the devices come bearing the same Google-based Android operating system. Both of them run on Android Jelly Bean.
Display and Dimensions
The Gionee Elife S5.5 sports a 5-inch super AMOLED capacitive touch screen, while rendering 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Also, the device's overall dimensions measure up to 145.1 x 70.2 x 5.6 mm.
The Oppo find 7, on the other hand, sports a slightly greater 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, while rendering 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. The device's overall dimensions measure up to 152.6 x 75 x 9.2 mm, and weighs in at 171 grams.
The Gionee Elife S5.5, in the camera department, offers a 13-megapixel primary camera, sporting a mammoth pixel resolution of 4160 x 3120 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. The device also has a secondary 5-megapixel camera on board that's more than enough for conducting video chats.
The Oppo find 7, in this instance, also offers a 13-megapixel primary camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels, with autofocus and dual LED flash. The device also has a secondary 5-megapixel camera, again for conducting video chats.
While the Gionee Elife S5.5 is equipped with an octa core 1.7 GHz processor, the Oppo Find 7 comes bearing a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor.
Storage and RAM
The Gionee Elife S5.5 offers 2GB of RAM to users while offering the device in a 16 GB internal memory variant. But there's no option to expand the device's memory as an external microSD slot for additional memory is missing.
The Oppo Find 7, on the other hand, offers 3GB of RAM to users while offering the device in a 16 GB internal memory variant. Moreover, there's the option to expand the device's memory up to 128GB as an external microSD slot for additional memory is also present.
While the Gionee Elife S5.5 juices up the device via a big 2300 mAh battery, the Oppo Find 7 comes sporting a far greater 3000 mAh battery.
While the Gionee Elife S5.5 is available at Rs. 22,999, its Oppo counterpart has priced the Find 7 handset at Rs. 34,500.
Since we are currently stuck with the Chinese manufacturers, we are keeping the discussion limited to that. Keeping all others in the background, the Oppo Find 7 and Gionee Elife S5.5 are quite similar to each other in terms of most of the specs on the device.
However, the only real thing that's actually making a distinction is the device price. And if we are taking the the price into consideration, the Gionee-made Elife S5.5 may have a slight advantage.
