Gionee GPad G2 Unveiled in India With Quad Core CPU, Available From Next Week

Gionee, a Chinese manufacturer with a fair number of devices launched in India, Vietnam, Nigeria and few other countries has now launched a phablet. The newly launched device - GPad G2, which is the successor of Gionee GPad G1. The latest offering GPad G2 is estimated to be priced around Rs 15,000, thereby offering competition to the other handsets that are priced similarly.

When it comes to specs, GPad G2 is a dual SIM device sporting a 5.3 inch qHD with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor, PowerVR Series5XT GPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory that can be expanded to up to 32GB using a microSD card, 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, 2MP front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and a 3,000mAH battery. Further, Gionee GPad G2 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Besides specs, Gionee GPad G2 comes in-built Digital Theatre System (DTS) Sound, YAMAHA 168 music system for enhanced audio experience and applications including Facebook, NQ Security, YouTube, Twitter and more.

It is clear that from the specifications and price of the device, it is aimed to compete with Micromax Canvas HD priced at Rs 14,499 and with similar specifications.

Specwise, A116 Canvas HD houses a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.

Canvas HD boasts a better display with HD resolution, but GPad G2 comes with superior battery capacity.
