Gionee Launches Elife S7 Flagship Smartphone at MWC 2015: What about India Release?
Following countless leaks and endless rumors, Gionee has officially revealed the Elife S7 at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC).
The latest in Gionee's flagship Elife series sees the company upping its game in a bid to compete with the likes of the Xiaomi Mi Note and Samsung Galaxy S6, cladding the Elife S7 in a aluminum metal and glass casing.

What is known about the Gionee Elife S7 is that it measures in at 5.5mm in terms of thickness. Basically the Elife S7 is a legitimate successor to the Elife S5.5 and S5.1. In the past few days we've seen the launch of the Oppo R5, and Vivo X5 Max, each with a focus on the slim design. Today's launch is similar, with the phone focusing on the slimness factor.
Under the hood, the Gionee Elife S7 features MediaTek's octa-core processor, which comes paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of native storage. Of course, the Elife S7 will ship running Google's Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with Gionee's Amigo 3.0 UI on top.

This aluminum and glass casing houses the Elife S7's 5.2-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, which comes coasted in Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and back. On the camera front, the Gionee-made handset features a 13MP sensor on its rear that uses Gionee's new image processing system. There's also an 8MP camera on the front of the smartphone. Connectivity options are standard, with support for 4G, Wi-Fi, Dual-SIM, Bluetooth and GPS.
When it comes to battery life, the device ships with a 2750 mAh non-removable battery, although the company is yet to reveal on how long this will last.
Release Date and Price
Gionee has confirmed that the Elife S7 will be available in India, starting from April 3, 2015. There's no word yet regarding how much the new Elife S7 will cost at launch. However, we'll assume that it will be priced under Rs. 30,000.
