Gionee Pioneer P3: Affordable Quad Core Smartphone Launched at Rs 7,499

Smartphone sales in India have risen over three-folds , according to a report by IDC. While the market share of feature phones continue to decline, and low-cost smartphones have seen a rapid increase in the demand, the future of connected devices looks bright.

To capture the Indian smartphone market with style, Chinese player Gionee has unleashed a new Android powered smartphone called the Pioneer P3 which is affordable and also incorporates lot of useful features.

Priced at Rs.7,499, the Gionee Pioneer P3 will likely to be a start to a new revolution in the low-end smartphone market.

Aiming to become the most sought after handset manufacturer in India, Gionee sets the temperature high with the coming of Pioneer P3. Unlike other handsets in the same category, the Pioneer P3 boasts of an impressive hardware specifications.

The device comes with a stunning 4.3-inch display having a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

Under the hood, there's a 1.3GHz quad-core processor (MediaTek) coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes of the. Gionee also promise timely updates, as the handset supports OTA (Over-the-air) function.

Moreover, the Pioneer P3 features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED Flash and a VGA quality camera on the front.

The handset supports an array of connectivity features: 3G, Wi-Fi, 2G EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.

Yes, the device does have a built-in dual SIM functionality with Dual Stand by support as well. Also, the makers have added a 1,700mAh battery fitted inside.

On the downside, the Pioneer P3 would have been an excellent choice, if the device features 1GB of RAM, instead of 512MB of RAM.

There's a 3MP rear facing camera too on the back without LED Flash. Unfortunately, Samsung hasn't provided a front facing camera. This Dual SIM supported phone comes with a 1500mAh battery fitted inside. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. Other connectivity features include: 3G, 2G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and A-GPS, among others. The phone will be available in three sizzling colors: Black, White and Red. Samsung Galaxy Trend is priced at Rs. 8,290. The phone also supports regional languages.

The phone comes with a 4-inch display having a resolution of 480×800 pixels. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT 6572 processor with a Mali 400 MP GPU coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory ( expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot). Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. There's a 3.0-megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED Flash and a VGA quality front-facing camera. The device measures 11.9mm in term of thickness and offers 3G connectivity.
