Gionee Pioneer P3 Smartphone Coming Soon At Rs 7,999: Quad Core Fight Turns Fiercer in India
Advancing with a rapid pace in the global smartphone business is another Chinese manufacturer, Gionee. Recently the company has yet again released it's latest handset Pioneer P3 or the P3 through the online retailer eBay. The e-commerce site says that the device would cost Rs. 7,999 and will be available for purchase only after December 6, 2013 onwards.

Going by the specs, the Pioneer P3 comes with a 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen display offering a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Moreover, the device is quite similar to the company's previously launched Pioneer P2.

There will be a 1.3 GHz MT6582 quad-core processor powering the device coupled with Mali 400 MP2 GPU clocked at 500Mhz. The device is also backed by 512MB RAM and will run on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS.

Imaging will be accordingly taken care of by a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera.
Further the site also mentions that the device would feature 4GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 32GB via micro SD card.
There would also be an array of regular connectivity options present in the device which include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Also add a Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) with Dual Standby support as well.
The Gionee P3 is 11.1mm thick and available in Black and White colors. The quad core smartphone would draw its energy from a 1700 mAh battery which is said to offer a talk-time of up to 12 hours and would be available in Black and White colors.
It is worth mentioning that this newly spotted device is different from its predecessor Pioneer P2 only in few segments like the display and the processor. The later version of the device is bigger is size and also features better processor as well. Everything else remains same.
The company has recently released devices like GPad G3 and Elife E7 in select markets and India has been receiving most of them. Moreover, Indian smartphone manufacturers are also frequently launching most of their devices of late which might also have an impact upon the sales of the upcoming Gionee device. However among all, Xolo Q500, Xolo Q600, Karbonn Titanium S2, Intex Aqua i6 and Lava Iris 458q can be considered as its most crucial competitors.

Xolo Q500
The Q500 comes with a 4-inch capacitive touch screen OGS display with 480 x 800 pixels and pixel density of 233 ppi. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and Adreno 203 GPU coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS. Pictures can be taken from a 5MP camera with LED Flash which can also shoot video at 720p quality. It also features a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. Connectivity options remain regular with 3G (HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA up to 5.6 Mbps), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and aGPS support. While Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support with Dual Standby can also be found. The device houses 4GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB with microSD. It measures 10.7mm thick and draws its energy from a 1450 mAh battery.
Karbonn S2 Titanium
Karbonn S2 Titanium houses a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 854 x 480 pixel resolution, 1.2GHz quad core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, 2MP front camera, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, which can be expanded to up to 32GB via micro SD card, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and a 2,100mAh battery.
Xolo Q600
The Xolo Q6000 features a 4.5-inch TFT FWVGA display that offers a 480×854 pixels screen resolution and a pixel density of 217ppi. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which is the latest version of the operating system, and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MTK ARM Cortex-A7 processor with Power VR SGX544 GPU and is also supported by a 512MB RAM. The device sports a 5-MP rear camera and a VGA camera on front side of the phone which can be used for video calling. The phone supports an HD video playback at 720p at 30 frames per second. The Q600 also comes with the internal storage capacity of 4GB that can be further expanded by microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB cards. Connectivity The Xolo Q600 is a dual SIM phone and on the connectivity front the device supports 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS. Battery The phone also comes pre-loaded with Xolo's anti-theft software and houses a 2000mAh battery offering up to 13.4 hours of talktime on 2G and up to 10 hours of talktime on 3G, and can run for up to 333 hours on standby.
Lava Iris 458q
The Iris 458q sports a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with FWVGA resolution of 540x960 pixels. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a quad-core processor tuned to 1.2 GHz along with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone packs in 4GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by another 32GB via microSD card. Photography will be taken care of by an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front facing camera. The device supports Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) with Dual Standby and also provides users with 3G connectivity. It is powered by a 2,000mAh battery.
Intex Aqua i6
The Aqua i6 comes with a 5.0-inch FWVGA display. It is powered by a second-generation quad-core processor, backed by MediaTek's MT6582 chipset. The internal memory stands at 4GB (expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot), whereas the handset comes with 512MB of RAM. There's an 8-megapixel camera with LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for long video chat. The makers have added a 1900mAh battery fitted inside, which can lasts up to 6 hours on a single charge. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. Other highlighted connectivity options include: 3G HSPA, 2G (EDGE), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and FM Radio.
