Google's latest flagship sucessor, the Nexus 5; an answer to Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One, is said to hit Google Play Store alongside the Nexus 7 reportedly in the second week of November. This is for the first time Google will release its latest devices in India at par with leading markets.
As of now, Google is yet to comment on the exact release date and availability of Nexus 5 for the Indian market. However, interestingly, Google Nexus 5 has been recently spotted on India's e-commerce site Flipkart with a higher-price tag. The listing shows, 16GB version of Nexus 5 priced at Rs. 30,999, if you shop from Flipkart. On the other hand, the same 16GB variant will be made available for Rs. 28,999, if users purchase it from Play Store.
It is to be noted that a third-party seller is selling the Nexus 5 on Flipkart. The seller also notes that it will take at least 13-14 days to ship the device. Since Google is believed to launch Nexus 5 on November 12 in India, it is logical to rely on Google Play store. Moreover, the Nexus 5 is listed cheaper on Google Play store.
The Google Nexus 5 has a 4.95-inch Full HD 1080p resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB ROM, 8MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 2300mAh battery. The biggest reason to purchase Nexus 5 has to be its latest OS. Android 4.4 uses16% less memory than previous generation Android OS, and it is even more efficient at 12.9 % than previous generations.
The notable changes include: re-vamped dialer, voice search is faster, Google Now to play a key role in day-to-day operations, Hangouts, an important ingredient of Android 4.4, secure NFC-based transactions through Host Card Emulation (HCE) for payments, two new composite sensors added - step detector and step counter, and a full-screen immersive mode.
