Google Nexus Smartphones Now Receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop Update

If you own one of the many Nexus devices from Google, you are anyway a subject of envy among your friends. And now there's more good news for all of you on the cards, and it's indeed related to the new Android Lollipop update.

According to reports, owners of Nexus-branded handsets are now receiving the brand new Android Lollipop update on their handsets. This means all the goodies of the new and updated OS from Google is live for your handset.

Google Nexus Smartphones Now Receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop Update

The Pure Google devices that are currently getting the Android 5.0 treatment include the likes of Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 10, and Nexus 7 (2012). In fact, factory images of the new OS version are already available to download and flash.

For the record, the previously released LG Nexus 4 will also receive the new Android build, although it is yet to to receive a Lollipop factory image. Good times, eh?

Moreover, it needs to be said that Android 5.0 factory images are available only for the Wi-Fi versions of both Nexus 7 models. However, owners of 2012 and 2013 varinats of Nexus 7 devices with cellular connectivity will still need to wait.
