How to Transfer Data from iPhone 5/5s to iPhone 6: 5 Easy Steps

But believe us when we tell you that it's that hard a job. On the contrary, with the right set of tools (and guidance) the job will be as easy as ever. Here are the 5 steps to move your data from your old iPhone to the new iPhone 6.

IMPORTANT: Note that the latest migration is to be done with the help of iTunes. While migrating data with iCloud remains an entirely different ball game.

Before you start with the whole migration process, back up your older iPhone with iTunes by connecting it to the Mac/PC via USB. Once that is done, launch iTunes. Then right-click on the iPhone in the iTunes sidebar and choose "Back Up".

Once you are done with that, the old phone will start its back up process. Wait for the backup to finish. When it has been done, disconnect the old iPhone from the computer.

Next, turn on the new iPhone. And once you are at the "Set Up iPhone" screen, select "Restore from iTunes Backup". Now tap Next and connect the new iPhone to the computer.

Here on, select the most recent backup of your old phone that you just made from the restore menu in iTunes, and then click on "Continue".

Now, you wait. When the ongoing transfer is finished, the iPhone will reboot itself and everything from the old iPhone will be on the new one and ready for you to use.
