While Samsung, Nokia and Apple are stealing the tech spotlight for their upcoming mid range flagship models lined up for launch in 2013, it looks like HTC has no plan to take a break. The Taiwanese giant has already snatched all the glare this week with the launch of its Ultrapixel high end smartphone HTC One, and now the smartphone maker is in news again for a new affordable handset which has surfaced online recently.
Dubbed as HTC 603e, the company is secretly prepping this Android smartphone for its launch in China very soon. According to Unwiredview reports, few days back, the Chinese telecommunication equipment certification authority gave thumbs up to HTC 603e, and the handset seems to be exclusive only to China.
The device has not been officially introduced but that hasn't stopped leaks from coming out. A new live image of the the handset came afloat on Feb 22. The latest rumors suggest that HTC 603e will be sold by China Unicom, country's second largest telecom service.
The smartphone will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and will come with a 4.3-inch 480×800 touchscreen display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear facing camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera, .15GHz of Dual core processor, 1GB RAM, Dual-SIM support. There is no information on the HTC 603e's internal memory but is said to come with a microSD slot. The phone will be available in black, green, white, and yellow colour options. When observed, the rumored specs are obviously similar to mid range One series smartphone launched last year, HTC One SV.
However, at the same time, experts are also predicting that it is the same handset which leaked in the past boasting the codename HTC M4. This particular handset was informed to be expected with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, same 4.3-inch 720p display, 1.2 dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera and and a 1.3-megapixel front camera along with battery support of 1700 mAH.
Well, whatever may be the case the HTC fans will need to wait and watch till the handset is officially announced by the coutry. Meanwhile, there is no information about the launch date or price of the HTC 603e but is expected to hit the shelves, starting March 2013. Similarly, HTC M4 is also expected to be launched on March 8, same year.
