The main players in the Smartphone segment are Nokia, Sony Ericsson, HTC, Samsung, LG and Motorola. These brands have been fighting it out for supremacy ever since they all launched Smartphones in India.
Today we take a close look on one of those ongoing battles in the Smartphone segment. The fight is between HTC ChaCha and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini. Both are Android wonders in the mid range Smartphone segment and they have both reported strong sales in the mobile market since their launch.
HTC ChaCha is a touch and type bar phone that has a dedicated Facebook button and encompasses a 2.6 inches capacitive touch screen based display in addition to a physical QWERTY keypad. Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini on the other hand has a larger 3.0 inches capacitive full touch screen based display but dimension wise is very cute and small as compared to the whacky design of the ChaCha.
Both the models are high on feature in multimedia and entertainment category. They provide playback for a number of well known multimedia audio and video formats including high definition video formats like h263 and h264.
The camera department is also a no loss battle for both HTC ChaCha and Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini. Both of them have a powerful 5 Mega Pixel camera that helps users to capture their favorite pics at ease but the Xperia Mini offers video recording in high definition 720p format in comparison to the VGA recording capability of the ChaCha.
Both HTC ChaCha and Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini have a VGA front camera for video chatting on high speed 3G networks.
On the connectivity front both the phones offer the latest in technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB PC connectivity. HTC ChaCha and Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini have GPRS, EDGE and high speed 3G supports for enabling internet browsing and downloading. The data transfer rates are very high for both the phones.
The two phones go hand in hand when it comes to the specs chart and it is the pricing where the Xperia Mini really tops the ChaCha. HTC ChaCha will cost you around Rs 15500 whereas Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini with slightly higher features and specs retails for only around Rs 13500. Thus Xperia Mini inches ahead of the ChaCha, but it is a close battle.
