HTC Desire 500 Debuts in Europe, Coming to India Soon To Take On Mid-Range Smartphone Market
Taiwanese tech giant HTC launched a mid range handset in July 2013, dubbed as Desire 500which was informed to be priced at $398 (approx. Rs. 23,750). Well, the news is that the handset has finally hit the European markets.
The Desire 500 is a powerful mid-range model featuring a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, HTC BlinkFeed and Video Highlights, which collates your images into a 30-second themed video reel.

Available in the UK, with full details including stockists and launch date to be announced in due course, the HTC Desire 500 is designed for those who demand a superior mobile experience at an affordable price. The HTC Desire 500 will be available in Lacquer Black and Glacier Blue giving it a sleek and sophisticated look.
While, the handset is expected to reach the Asian markets including India soon (estimated time August-end), let's take a quick recap at all the specs of the handset. HTC Desire 500 sports a 4.3 inch, WVGA resolution of 480 x 800pixels with unknown pixel density. The handset runs on Android 4.2.2 operating system including software features like Blinkfeed and Video Highlights. It comes with the topping of HTC Sense UI.
Further, Desire 500 is powered by a competitive Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core processor clocked to 1.2GHz and is backed by 1GB RAM as well. Talking about camera, HTC Desire 500 comes packed with 8-megapixel rear camera with auto focus, LED flash, BSI sensor, built-in HTC ImageChip, F2.0 aperture and 28mm lens along with 1.6-megapixels front camera which is also loaded with BSI Sensor. Connectivity options include Built-in GPS / AGPS antenna, 3.5mm audio jack, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fib/g/n, DLNA, 2G and 3G.
Moreover, it houses an internal storage capacity of 4GB which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD and also comes with a Beats Audio like other HTC handsets. The device measuring 131.8 x 66.9 x 9.9 mm in dimension and which weighs 123 grams is eventually powered by a 1800 mAh battery.
