Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has recently launched their latest three devices which come dubbed as Desire 601, Desire 601 and Desire 700 in the Indian market. It should be noted that all these three device come with a dual SIM support. The handset is pretty expensive at Rs. 33,050, compared to the other two. This best out of these three is the last one which will be available in India sometime later in December 25th. While the Desire 501 and 601 are priced at Rs. 16,890 (to be available this weekend) and Rs. 24,190 (to be available sometime before Christmas) respectively.

HTC Desire 700 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 2: Who's the Winner Now?

When one looks at the specs of the premium HTC Desire 700's specs, it is pretty much similar to Samsung's popular Galaxy Note 2. Moreover, even the prices of these devices fall in the same range. Thus GizBot has come up with a comparative rundown on the specs of these two devices. Take a look:

The HTC Desire 700 Dual SIM sports a 5-inch qHD display which offers a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels and 220 ppi pixel density. While on the other hand, the Samsung's Galaxy Note 2 comes with a 0.5 inch bigger Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display offering a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and 267 ppi pixel density.

Processor, RAM and OS

The HTC Desire 700 Dual SIM is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor coupled with 1GB DDR2 RAM. It is flavored with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. Samsung's predecessor to Galaxy Note 3 comes powered by the company's very own Exynos 4412 Cortex-A9 Quad Core processor dialed to 1.6 GHz. It is coupled with Mali-400MP graphic unit and 2GB RAM as well and runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS.

Camera

The camera section is pretty much same in both the handsets. Both come with an 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and BSI Sensor and are capable of recording video at 1080p. Sadly there is no ultrapixel sensors present in HTC smartphone this time. Samsung Galaxy Note 2's 1.9 MP front facing shooter comes with a bit lesser MP compared to Desire 700's 2.1 MP with BSI Sensor.

Storage

Sasmung's Galaxy Note 2 comes in 3 variants depending on the internal storage capacity-16GB, 32GB and 64GB variant. The handset also features a microSD card slot. Thus HTC Desire 700 looses in this section as well as it houses only 8GB internal memory which is expandable up to 64GB via micro SD card.

Connectivity

Connectivity options in both the device remain similar with 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB. However, the winning part of the HTC Desire 70 comes with the Dual SIM capability which the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 lacks.

The HTC desire 700 Dual SIM measures 10.3 mm thick and weighs 149 grams and draws its energy from 2100 mAh removable battery. While the Note 2 which is slightly bigger in size is powered by a more capable Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery. The handset weighs 180 grams.

The Desire 700 Dual SIM comes with a HTC's very own BlinkFeed, HTC Zoe and standard HTC BoomSound, Dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers. While Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with an Stylus that makes it easy to operate in certain cases.

Price and Availability

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is company's last years flagship device so it is currently available on al e-commerce sectors. Moreover, Flipkart is offering the handset in an easy exchange offer which will reduce the device's price till Rs 26,500. If you don't want the exchange offer, the device will cost you Rs. 31,500.

The HTC Desire 700 Dual SIM will cost you Rs. 33,050 and it will be available from December 25th.

However, HTC Desire 700's Dual SIM support is one powerful feature that will keep the customer confused between the two handsets.
