As of now, no other ecommerce or online retailer has confirmed that they will be stocking the HTC Desire 816G. HTC had previously said that the Desire 816G would be made available in India this month.

HTC was widely seen struggling to beat heavy weights, such as Samsung and others, in the mid-end category. Now, it seems that HTC has a perfect reason to match up to South Korean handset makers in the Indian handset market.

With the Desire 816G, the company has finally able to deliver a handset with right features at a competitive price. The Desire 816G looks challenge the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 with its stunning design and fast processor.

HTC Desire 816G - Highlighted Specifications

The HTC Desire 816G's specifications aren't much different from the original Desire 816, which was launched way back in April this year. The Desire 816G has the same 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, which is similar to the Desire 816.

However, this handset is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, instead of a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC. The device also offers a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash with f/2.2, 1080p HD recording. There's also a 5 MP front-facing camera with f/2.8 720p HD recording.

Connectivity options for the handset includes 3G HSPA+, WiFi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, and GPS with a-GPS. The makers have added a 2600mAh battery fitted inside.

The HTC Desire 816G is a 5.5-inch HD device with more-or-less similar features compared to rival handsets, but at a fraction of that price. Even though it is made out of plastic, there are number of positive features that make the Desire 816G a winner in every sense.

The HTC Desire 816G has a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 720p. The display is very responsive to touch, with rich color and a wide viewing angle.

There aren't many mid-end phones with decent sound quality. That's because of poor on-board speakers. In this case, the Desire 816G comes with award winning Boomsound stereo speakers. They sound almost perfect, and are counted among the Desire 816G's strengths.

The HTC Desire 816G has a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with an LED Flash, alongside a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. Both dual-cameras are capable of shooting 1080p videos. The main camera delivers good colors with less possible noise. The front-facing camera which boasts a 5MP resolution will be liked by those fond of the ‘selfie'.

HTC Desire 816G does look good, despite being made out of plastic. It feels big, but doesn't look huge, just like the Nokia Lumia 1320. The phone sits in comfortably in the hand. Like the original Desire 816, the Desire 816G will be available in a range of flashy colors.
