HTC One M8 Officially Launched: India Release Date Set For Third Week of April 2014
HTC has successfully maintained the trend of mega phones launches year with its own smartphone offering - dubbed HTC One M8 - that was just announced officially in India at a Delhi-based event for the same. At the same time, the live official launch event is taking place in New York.
Before heading over to the main device in contention, it is important to note that a lot is riding on this new flagship phone from HTC, and that too at a times when the company's profits and sales continue to fall.
And although HTC did try to get a better hold of the market with the release of the previous HTC One, which was well received everywhere with the device also enjoying critical praise for its all-metal design, its greatness was overshadowed by the release of Samsung's Galaxy S4.

And so, HTC will try to make sure that the new HTC One M8 doesn't face similar problems in the sales department when pitted against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S5 that's also set for an official release later down the year.
Heading back to the device in hand, keeping up with the previous rumors related to the new HTC phone, the HTC One M8 comes comes with a 5-inch Full HD display for greater image resolution and crisper details. And while we are yet to go all up, close and personal with the device, going by the previous rumors related to the same, expect the device to churn out a pixel capacity of 1080 x 1920 pixels.
The device itself runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the new HTC Sense 6.0 UI and revamped BlinkFeed slapped onto it. And going by the leaks related to the same, the HTC Sense 6.0 UI was already said to arrive with motion launch gestures and similar such new features for the new phone.

The new HTC One M8 is powered by a quad core Snapdragon 801 processor that's assisted via 2GB of RAM. Interestingly, the device also has an external MicroSD slot that supports expansion up to 128 GB. However, it is yet to be known if the device will arrive in different internal memory variants or will have a single memory variant, although there's a huge chance that the device will arrive in 16 and 32 GB internal memory variants.
And although the new device comes with a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery, the most interesting feature of the new HTC flagship are its camera offerings. The device sports a primary dual LED camera in the back with dual flash support - dubbed the All New Ultra Megapixel Camera.
Apart from that, there's also a secondary front-facing 5 MP camera that will serve more than enough for conducting video chats or snapping selfies. It is also to be noted that although the camera has an ultra megapixel tag to it, the images might not really highlight the true nature of the camera.
However, the images can later be touched upon and worked with, and users can add different focus and re-focus options to it externally before rendering the final device as share-ready.
Price and Release Date
As of now, although the HTC One M8's pricing details are yet to be revealed for the Indian subcontinent, it has only been revealed that the device will arrive in the local market by third week of April 2014. The device will also be compatible with all major 4G LTE offerings in India from the likes of Airtel and Reliance.
More details are expected to be revealed about the HTC One M8 in the coming days. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates.
