It's not only Samsung which is looking forward to come up with the new variant of its latest flagship smartphone the Galaxy S5. Now it looks like even Taiwanese premium smartphone maker HTC will come up with an upgraded variant of the recently launched HTC One M8. Both mobile phone makers are, in fact, working on the QHD or 2K display featuring the premium variant of their respective flagship devices.
HTC One M8's upgraded variant is codenamed M8 Prime and it will mostly stand against the Galaxy S5 Prime and G3, LG's flagship device for this year, when it hits the market. Obviously all these devices will be launched with a Quad HD display, which will churn out two times the resolution of the Full HD display.
The alleged HTC One M8 Prime is reportedly said to come packed with a 5.5-Inch Quad-HD display. It will be powered by Qualcomm's one of the latest processors, the Snapdragon 805 quad-core SOC, coupled with 3GB of RAM. You will also get to see a 5MP Ultrapixel camera. Other rumored specs include 16GB of on-board storage, 16MP depth sensor, up from 2MP front in One (M8).
However, there is not much information pertaining to the specs and pricing of the device. Regarding the availability the HTC One M8 Prime is expected to be released in September 2014.
