HTC has had a rocking year so far with several hit devices to its credit. With the HTC One (M8), the company has truly managed to transform the high-end of the smartphone market.
While HTC One M9 is expected to launch early next year, although latest reports have suggested the premium phone could adopt a new name.
The M8 was launched earlier this year, and since then it has been claimed that the company's next flagship will altogether have a different naming scheme.
Now, according to serial tipster @Upleaks, HTC could be changing their naming scheme next year. That means the next flagship device from HTC may have an altogether different name.
"OK, here's a "little" leak; They will not use simple codename like M* anymore," the tipster claimed.
Even though @upleaks does not mention what the new naming scheme will be, but another post by @upleaks has revealed that HTC has a new handset in the works for next year that has been given the codename "Hima".
Once again, it is unknown yet whether "Hima" will be the next flagship phone from the Taiwanese giant or if it is just a new high-end handset.
It is expected that HTC might bring the successor to the M8 sometime around April next year. The next-gen flagship handset is rumored to get a QHD ( 2K resolution) screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM and 4G LTE Cat 6 connectivity, among others.
In the beginning of this month, HTC launched the Desire Eye handset, alongside the HTC One (M8 Eye) and Re action camera.
