HTC Radiant windows smartphone unveiled
The tech world got the wind of HTC Radiant for the first time when there were rumours about two phones that are coming with LTE connectivity under the AT&T network. Not many details were available then. Now an image of the device is available and some of the specs too are being speculated.
On the first glance you will be confused whether it is HTC Titan because there is lot of similarities between the two phones. But once you notice the rear portion of the phone the differences are easily found out. The back side is composed of three pieces rather than the two piece design in Titan which gives a unique look for the gadget. Also here the flash is kept near the 3.5 mm audio jack and in Titan that portion is reserved for the loud speaker.
Since the phones look similar HTC Radiant may also come with a 4.7 inch display. The resolution won’t be anything higher than WVGA even if the Windows phone operating system will support it. The resolution might be kept as it is in order to make the phone more affordable. One other thing being speculated is that the battery in HTC would be of non-removable type unlike the one in Titan.
The battery capacity is not known as of now. Microsoft has already stated that they will be using power efficient chips for their new LTE devices, so the Radiant will have very long battery life. It will have a discrete GPU too.
A powerful processor clocked at the right speed is what is expected from this device. It may feature dual cameras and the main camera resolution is expected to be around 8 mega pixels. The secondary video calling camera might have a resolution of about 1.3 mega pixel like that in Titan.
3GPP Long term evolution more commonly known as LTE will increase the phones data rate and capacity very much. This will enable the user to enjoy much higher data transfer speeds, so that he/she can browse through online websites and other contents in a fast and efficient way.
HTC Radiant is all set to be launched in the Consumer electronics show which is going to be held next week in Vegas. More details about the phone and a price quote will be available then. The release dates of the phone on different parts of the world may also be announced during the occasion.
