"Quietly Brilliant" - HTC just proved it again by revealing their own version of the Smartphone - The HTC Runnymede. The 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Single Core processor does a very good job and the 768 MB of RAM makes it better. The HTC Runnymede operates on the Gingerbread version 2.3.4 of the Android OS. The User interface is always great when the gadget is from HTC. The Runnymede uses HTC Sense 3.5 User Interface technology.

Of course, a capacitive touchscreen display 4.7 inches long adds to the style but supports a maximum screen resolution of only 800 x 480 pixels. The screen will support multi-touch commands and will have Proximity and light sensors. Quality 720p HD video recording is a great asset to this new mobile Smartphone all because of the awesome 8 megapixel LED flash camera, believed to possess a 28mm wide angle lens and f/2/2 focal ratio, at the rear. The camera will be able to capture twice as better than a normal Smartphone as it's said to capture 60 frames per second. Front camera is VGA but supports acceptable quality in videoconferencing. An obviousfeature is the FM radio and a better version of Bluetooth facility (A2DP). Supposedly, Runnymede has the same specifications of the HTC Eternity except for the Android OS.

Offering near perfect sound quality, HTC Runnymede comes with a good looking headphone. Beats Audio has supposedly worked with the HTC to improve the audio quality, volume and performance and will have optimal synchronization with the headphone. So the headphone will obviously be a Beat headphone. The sound system will facilitate SRS Surround Sound feature. The 3.5 mm standard audio jack for the headphones can be connected to external speaker systems, so that the user will be able to amplify music quality and volume and enjoy the enhanced effect. Runnymede's 2.0 version Micro USB port can easily synch with computers and can charge the handset too, if the user doesn't have a charger with him at the moment. It's a common feature now in almost all new mobileSmartphones. The Hi-speed WiFi connectivity is of the type 802.11 b/g/n and the Runnymede can establish the WiFi network connection sooner than one would expect.

HTC Runnymede is bundled with 16 GB storage capacity in the form of a Micro SD card and is supposedly available in another flavour with a 32 GB capacity which is said to be the maximum memory extensibility. Basic applications to allow access to Android Application markets and Social networking sites are also included in the phone. The 1930 mAh battery in the phone will provide comparatively longer battery backup for talk time than usual Smartphones.

The GPS enabled, DLNA certified HTC Runnymede, although it has a weird name, is said to be worth the price. But no matter how hard we try, we couldn't get any information on the price. Well, not just yet. But we will keep you posted on any news regarding the price in India of Runnymede.
