The long time rumored and leaked smartphone from Huawei called Ascend P7, which is supposedly the successor of last year's Ascend P6, has finally been announced at an event in Paris, France. Trying to make the competition more cut-throat, Chinese smartphone maker has used the 4G LTE support in the device and thus this particular device will surely be one of the toughest devices that will rival against the ones from Samsung and other manufacturers.
The Huawei Ascend P7 comes in Black, White, and Pink color variant and is priced at 449 Euros (approx.Rs. 37,550). It is said to go on sale in China, UK, Germany, Italy, France and more countries starting from May. However, there is no detailed information about when the device is going to be made available in India.
Talking about the specs, The Huawei Ascend P7 comes with a 5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS touch-sensitive display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
It is powered by Huawei's proprietary Kirin 910T 1.8 GHz quad-core processor with Mali-450 MP4 GPU coupled with 2GB DDR3 RAM and it runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with company's own Emotion UI 2.3 on top.
Imaging technology used in the device consist of a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony's BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture and Huawei's proprietary Image Signal Processor (ISP), LED flash and 5P non-spherical lens. At the front, you will be amazed to see an 8MP front-facing camera with 5P non-spherical lens. Thus you can take excellent selfies and make high quality video calls over 4G LTE network.
The device houses a native storage capacity of 16GB and is expandable by up to 32GB via microSD card. But you will get all possible connectivity options which include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and NFC.
Huawei Ascent P7 measures 6.5 mm thick and weighs 124 grams and draws its energy from a 2500 mAh battery with ultra power saving mode that lets you stretch 10 percent of remaining battery power to last 24 hours on standby.
The feature-rich phone comes with an IMAGESmart 2.0, Ultra Snapshot function to launch camera in 1.2 seconds by double-clicking the down volume button from a locked mode and more.
The latest offering from Huawei will surely make a troubling impact in the Indian smartphone market. If the company is planning to make the device the perfect player against Galaxy S5 from Samsung, HTC One M8 and LG G Pro 2, then it would not be capable of doing so. However, leaving these phones and upcoming LG G3 aside, this would surely be one competitive phone to buy this year.
