Huawei Honor smartphone updated with ICS and launched in India

Mobile handsets with Android v2.3 (and higher) Gingerbread operating system and handsets powered by the Android v3.0 (and higher) Honeycomb operating system are scoring home runs in the Mobile phone market. And Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system is the latest talk of the town and Huawei is also getting ready to embrace this new Android version in its handsets. Huawei has alredy been providing people with feature-filled, low cost smartphones.

Huawei Honor is soon going to be compatible with an Android upgrade. Honor is presently powered by the v2.3.5 Android Gingerbread operating system. Reportedly, Google’s Nexus was the first mobile handset powered by the Ice Cream Sandwich. Huawei made it to the good books of Google, to earn an Android OS upgrade for Huawei Honor. Huawei Honor, with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS update has already been released, making it the first handset other than the Nexus to be sporting the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

Reportedly, Huawei already uploaded the ROM of the Android ICS OS update in their Chinese Website. The company is confident that this would help a number of users who would like to switch from Gingerbread OS version to the Ice Cream Sandwich OS can do it with ease using this software download facility in their own website.

Better updates may be expected soon from Huawei.
