More great news as far as the Indian presence in the smartphone market is concerned. According to reports, Indian OEM iBall has quietly released two new affordable Android smartphones in India, the Andi4 IPS GEM and Andi4 IPS Velvet.
Already put up for purchase, both the devices fall under the affordable segment in the market. Both the devices, as of now, are available for purchase via iBall's online store, but they are likely to go on sale via a number of retailers across the country.
Also, the devices are primarily meant for first time smartphone users who are looking to get the Android experience to the fullest, while not looking to shell out much cash.
iBall Andi4 IPS GEM: Highlighted Specs
The better of the two, iBall Andi4 IPS GEM, comes equipped with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, provided probably by MediaTek. However, the smartphone packs only 256MB of RAM and 2GB of internal memory, which is quite low even for an entry-level smartphone.
The device, apart from featuring added storage options via microSD memory card (up to 32GB), also offers an enhanced 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording. In the front, there's a secondary VGA camera for video calls.
The iBall Andi4 IPS GEM also comes with dual-SIM capability with dual standby support, while sporting a 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.
According to the company, the device is preloaded with special UI with multiple themes and an Auto Call recording feature, with FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack included as well.
Lastly, the smartphone is powered by a 1300 mAh battery, which is yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
