iBall Touch IPS 261: a low cost phone with dual camera

iBall the manufacturer of computer peripherals and associated parts has been quite a success in the respective field. The company also manufacture devices like Mp3 players, USB flash drives etc. With the mobile market booming in India iBall has also stepped onto this segment with own line of phones.

iBall-Touch IPS 261 is a new model from iBall. This device is made in a bar phone form factor and features a touch and type interface. The phone has a metallic body and is designed beautifully. The keypad has keys that are white in color with off white shading for numerals. The center of the navigation key has the iBall symbol in red and the contrast of this color with the rest of the device gives it a very trendy look. The phone even though packs in a lot of feature it is very affordable.

iBall Touch IPS 261 is a GSM based phone but does not support 3G connectivity. The phone is very compact and handy and weighs only 138 grams. The device features a 2.6 inch screen. The screen is of resistive touch screen type. The touch and type feature in the phone denotes the fact that the phone features a full size keypad along with a touch screen. Most of the touch screen phones today do not contain a keypad and this is a major advantage for iBall Touch IPS 261. The dual input feature lets you navigate through menus and options easily and also lets you type out an email or SMS without much hassles.

The phone features two cameras. The main camera is placed in the rear at the top portion and the camera has a resolution of 2.0 mega pixels. Flash is also provided in the rear to aid taking photos in low light conditions. This camera can record videos too. The secondary camera mainly intended for making video calls is placed in the front at the top above the screen. To integrate two cameras into a mobile with this price tag is a very bold move by the company. Some of the higher models with much larger price tag even do not include dual cameras.

iBall Touch IPS 261 has an expandable memory of up to 16GB. The memory can be increased by adding a memory card of type microSD. WAP/GPRS features are also integrated on to the phone so you can browse through the numerous WAP sites. The Bluetooth in the device is integrated with A2DP connectivity and this enables the user to stream music from the mobile phone to any other Bluetooth enabled audio device or to a Bluetooth stereo headset.

A bright LED torch is also provided at the rear and this increases the practicality of the device. The media player in the phone can play most of the common media files and supports many formats including MP3 and wav. There is an inbuilt FM radio in the device too. Music and radio can be enjoyed via phones speakers or by connecting a headset to the 3.5 mm audio jack. The device is JAVA enabled and supports JAVA games. All this features ensures complete entertainment no matter where you are.

The most amazing thing about the phone is its price tag considering the fact that to get a phone with this much features the users usually will have to pay much more. The phone comes with a price tag of approximately Rs.3, 500/- in India.
