Back in September 2012, Idea launched 3G dual SIM smartphone Aurus, well now the Indian telecom operator has launched its successor Idea Aurus 2. While the predecessor was packed with Android Gingerbread OS, the brand new successor is flavored by Android 4.1 OS (Jelly Bean) and will come priced at Rs. 6,490.

As far as other specifications, of the smartphone are concerned, Idea Aurus 2 is again a dual-SIM 3G phone, flaunting a handy 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixel resolution, 1 GHz processor, 4GB ROM along with 512 MB RAM. Further, the handset also houses a 3.2 megapixel camera with digital zoom along with a front facing VGA camera and supports video calling.

Idea Aurus 2 buyers will get 1.6 GB of 3G data and Idea TV subscription free for the first 3 months for just INR 261.

In addition, the handset will also offer video-calling facility for existing 2G users who wish to upgrade to 3G in semi-urban and rural markets, across the country. The handset has also been launched along the introductory pack offer where, Idea Aurus 2 buyers will get 1.6 GB of 3G data and Idea TV subscription free for the first 3 months at Rs 261. Meanwhile, the smartphone will also come with easy access to Gmail, Facebook, Twitter and other social networks.
