Idea Aurus vs Spice Mi-320: 3G Dual SIM Budget Smartphone Fight
Indian smartphone market is flooded with a slew of budget Android tablets launched by several homegrown manufacturers. The budget conscious market trend has gone to an all new level with such smartphones that are priced competitively to quench the needs of the price-conscious consumers.
Idea Cellular, one of the leading telecos in the country has been come up with a 3G smartphone based on the Android OS dubbed as Aurus, which is the fourth Android smartphone released into the market by the teleco, after Idea Blade, Idea ID-918 and Idea ID-280. Priced at Rs 7,190, the 3G dual SIM smartphone is packed with pretty impressive specifications.
At the same time, Spice has released a dual SIM Android smartphone - Mi-320 priced at Rs 4,899 into the budget-conscious Indian smartphone market following its Stellar series handsets.

Dimensions & Weight: While Aurus carries a dimension of 61.84 x 116 x 12.15mm and weighs around 136 grams, the Mi-320 boasts a dimension of 111 x 59.6 x 12.8 mm and weighs in at 120 grams.
Display: When it comes to display, Aurus packs a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution and Mi-320 houses a 3.2 inch TFT LCD touchscreen display with 320 x 240 pixel resolution.
Processor: In this segment, Aurus is equipped with a 800MHz MediaTek MT6573 processor. On the other hand, Spice Mi-320 is powered by a slower 650MHz processor.
Operating System: Being a budget smartphones, both Aurus and Mi-320 run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which is an older version of the Google’s OS.
Camera: Aurus comes equipped with a 5MP rear camera and 0.3MP front facing camera for video calling while Mi-320 has a 2MP rear camera and lacks a VGA front camera in the handset for video calling.
Storage: On the storage front, both the smartphones score equally as they are packed with 256MB RAM and an external micro SD card supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
Connectivity: When it comes to connectivity features, both the smartphones have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n, Bluetooth and of course 3G as they are 3G handsets.
Battery: Aurus is powered by a 1,300 mAh Li-ion battery and Mi-320 is loaded with a 1,200 mAh Li-ion battery.
Price: Talking about the price, Aurus is priced at Rs 7,190 while Spice Mi-320 is available at Rs 4,899.
Verdict
Both Idea Aurus and Spice Mi-320 are low cost Android smartphones with impressive specifications and a collection of preloaded software features.
Idea Aurus comes preloaded with a number of applications including Idea App mail – the teleco’s app store, Android Manager, augmented reality app Layar, Currency Converter, photo editor PicSay, Pinball game, Ringdroid, Shazam and social netwoking app such as Facebook and Twitter.
Spice Mi-320 comes with many preloaded apps and sofware features including NetQin Antivirus software and Vault privacy app bundled along with A-GPS free for six months and social networking apps.
Moreover, Idea is offering free 3G services worth Rs 2,340 on a recharge of Rs 259 to the consumers.
Consumers who prefer a faster processor and better camera optics along with attractive data offers, can opt for the Idea Aurus.
On the other hand, for those who are too concerned on the price of the handset and on its security, the Spice's offering could be the right one.
