The growing smartphone market in India has witnessed one more low budget device from Idea called ID 920. The device has been put to sale recently on Infibeam one of the major online retailers in India. The device is priced at Rs. 4,900.
To go by the specs, Idea ID 920 sports a 3.5 inch HVGA capacitive touch screen that gives a display resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The latest device for Idea is based on Android Gingerbread version 2.3 operating system and is powered by 1GHz processor along with 256MB RAM to enhance the speed and performance of the phone. The latest budget smartphone comes with the dual SIM support and works on both 2G and 3G networks. It also houses a 2MP rear camera and lacks a front facing camera. Connectivity options include 3G, EDGE, GPRS, WLAN, USB and Bluetooth.
The Idea ID 920 also supports an FM Radio and has a music player as well. Internal storage capacity is very less at 512MB but 2GB memory card comes included in the phone. The external storage can further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The Idea ID 920 is powered by a 1400mAh battery that will give a talk time of up to 13h in 2G, 7h in 3G and standby time of up to 500h in 2G and up to 300h in 3G mode.
The Idea ID 920 runs on a very old Android version and on top of that it has a very less RAM and internal storage capacity as well. However, this device carries a very decent price which is the reason behind the lesser specification. Moreover, this could serve the best need for the ones with a very tight budget. But if observed from the market perspective, there are devices with better specs and front facing camera like, Videocon A15, Karbonn A1+, Micromax Bolt A35 , Karbonn A4, Videocon A22 and Intex Aqua Star. All these devices range below the price of Idea ID 920. These devices feature dual SIM as well. Thus, the device is likely to face some challenges.
