Idea Cellular has been a popular name when talking about telecom operators in the nation. However, the company has not proved to be too successful as far yet in the smartphone arena.
With the advent of 2013, it seems like Idea Cellular has turned out to be highly aggressive handset manufacturer in order to attain a huge success in terms of its smartphones.
The telco has come up with a new 3G dual SIM smartphones flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS at a price of Rs 7,390. This is the fifth handset released into the market by the teleco, with the other four smartphones being Idea Aurus, Idea Blade, Idea ID-918 and Idea ID-280.
According to Idea Cellular, Ivory smartphone packs a 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen display, 1GHz processor, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot, 3.2MP rear camera, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,300 mAh battery.
Idea Ivory comes preloaded with a number of applications including Facebook, Twitter, Music Video Player, documents to go and more. Further, Idea is offering 1GB of 3G data every month for first 3 months along with subscription to Idea TV for a one-time charge of Rs 261.
Launched at Rs 7,390, Idea Ivory has made its way into the online retailer site - Infibeam for a price of Rs 6,829. Also, the online retailer offers convenient payment options including Cash on Delivery and 0% EMI schemes alongside 30 day replacement guarantee.
On the competition front, Idea lands into a direct rivalry with major tech giants including Samsung, Sony, Micromax, Karbonn and more in the sub Rs 10,000 price range. The handset will definitely challenge other Android ICS dual SIM smartphones including Galaxy Music Duos, Sony Xperia Tipo Dual, Micromax Smarty A68, Karbonn A15 and Lava Iris N400.
