Intex Cloud X4, Y2 Launched at Rs 4,590 And Rs 6,190: Budget Handset Fight Gets Fiercer in India

Intex Technologies, the makers behind Aqua range of smartphones have come up with two affordable 3G enabled handsets. The Intex Cloud X4 and Cloud Y2 are entry level handsets powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, dual-core processor and 3G connectivity. Last week, Lava International had launched low cost 3G 356 and 3G 402 in the Indian market. India is still mainly a price conscious market and both Indian as well as International tech vendors have realized that without selling affordable Android powered ; it would be touch to survive. The Intex Cloud X4 is priced at Rs. 4,590 and Cloud Y2 retails for Rs. 6,190.

"Intex has sold over 4 lacs Smartphones in last quarter and planning to sell 3 million this fiscal year. Our latest offerings in the ‘Cloud' series offer an enhanced mobility experience to users who demand the best of features and performance from their smartphones and are economical too," as per Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, GM-Mobility Division, Intex Technologies.

The Cloud X4 comes with 3.5-inch WVGA display offering 320×480 pixels resolution. The device is powered by a 1GHz processor coupled with 256 MB RAM and 512 MB of ROM (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. There's a 3.2-mega pixel rear facing camera and VGA quality front facing camera. The makers have added a 1,500mAh Li Ion battery. Other connectivity options include: Dual SIM, 3G, 2G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

The Intex Cloud Y2 is priced a little higher compared to Cloud X4. The phone packs a 4- inch display. The phone is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512 MB RAM and 4GB ROM (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. There's a 5-mega pixel rear facing camera on the rear. Also add a VGA quality camera on the front. The makers have added a 1,500mAh Li Ion battery. Connectivity options are pretty standard.
