We used to love our old iPhone, but now that it has slowed down considerably, it's time to replace it with the shiny new iPhone 6. But before you replace your old iPhone, you'll want to make sure whether the device will get an iOS 9 update or not.
According to media reports, Apple will be optimizing the next version of its mobile OS for older devices, including the iPhone 4S and iPad Mini. Instead of building another build of iOS 9, Apple is now expected to release a "core version" of iOS 9 that would be developed for older iOS-powered devices.
That would be a significant change for iOS. The Cupertino-based giant has been increasing its focus in emerging markets, where the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5C are in huge demand. Since Apple has making constant efforts to push its iOS-compatible devices in those countries, this move could prove significant for the tech giant.
The following devices are expected to get benefitted:
iPad Mini 2
iPhone 6 Plus
iPad Air 2
iPad Mini 3
Apple is likely to preview its iOS 9 mobile operating system on June 8 at its annual WWDC developer conference.
