Apple the Cupertino based tech giant is going to make all the heads turn today, as it unwraps the much rumored iPhone 5 in the special media event in San Francisco. The Apple fanboys are going to witness the highly anticipated and redesigned next iPhone in just a few hours.
In 2011, when Apple launched the iPhone 4S, the consumers actually expected a revamped model but were disappointed, so the iPhone 5, which is slated for launch today is speculated to come with a redesigned build.
Coming to the rumored specifications of the next iPhone, the smartphone is speculated to have the 4G LTE support similar to the new iPad, which was released in March. According to the recent reports, the next iPhone will support global LTE networks.
One of the consistent rumors regarding the next iPhone is the presence of a larger 4-inch display, which retains the same pixel density as the fifth generation iPhone. According to the earlier reports, the vertical pixel count of the iPhone 5 will be increased to 1,136 while the horizontal count remains the same 640. The increase in the real estate will pave way for more apps on the homescreen.
Then comes the redesigned headset, which was aims to improve the audio quality by preventing the leakage of sound. Following this, comes the presence of a smaller dock connector in the sixth generation iPhone. The smartphone is rumored to leave the 30 pin dock connector and feature a 9 pin connector port.
Further, the iPhone 5 will have a nano-SIM tray supporting smaller SIM cards. Apple has been reported to be in talks with the carriers regarding the nano-SIMs.
The other rumored specifications include iOS 6, improved Siri, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, NFC, liquidmetal casing and an improved battery for better backup.
