Apple has already started sending invites to the tech media world for its press event on September 12, the big day when the Cupertino tech giant will unveil the much-awaited next iPhone.
There had numerous image leaks and rumors related to the upcoming smartphone and now, less than 5 days ahead the launch, there is another update about the highly anticipated handset.
According to a report by Telegraph, Apple will unveil the 8GB version of iPhone 4, which will be the entry-level iPhone at the event. The report goes on stating that according to sources close to the retailers, an 8GB version of iPhone 4S might also be announced. This will be a boon for those who like to own an iPhone with reduced storage option and priced lower than the upcoming model.
Also, Apple could drop the current entry-level iPhone – the 3GS which was launched in June 2009 as it is too old to support the latest features.
While announcing iPhone 4S in India, the price of iPhone 3GS was Rs. 20,900, while the iPhone 4 8GB was priced at Rs. 37,900. Hopefully, the 8GB iPhone 4S is priced attractively to help it penetrate the budget conscious Indian market.
When it comes to the iPhone 5, there will be three options of the smartphone based on storage capacity. However, there is no clear information on whether the iPhone 5 will support full 4G networks.
Further, the sources of Telegraph have hinted at a possible release date of September 21 for the next iPhone, as rumored earlier.
Coming to the specifications of the next iPhone, it is rumored to pack a larger 4 inch display, smaller dock connector, iOS 6, improved Siri, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, NFC, 4G LTE, liquidmetal casing and an improved battery for better backup.
