iPhone 5S: Apple to Use Sharp's IGZO Display In Next Gen iPhone

iPhone 5S, the next-gen device from Cupertino-based giant , is set to enter into production stage. From the past few months, it is being said that some key suppliers would start manufacturing parts for the iPhone. The latest supplier is Japanese's giant Sharp that is believed to start producing display panels for the next -gen iPhone 5S in June. The report was published in Nikkan Kogyo, a Japan based business daily. Sources close to newspaper revealed that the production is slated to start next month.

Sharp will supposedly be using its Kameyama Plant No. 1 to churn out LCDs bound for the so-called "iPhone 5S," as quoted in Nikkan Kogyo (translated).

While Japan display, a company formed by LG Display, Sony, Hitachi, and Toshiba, has also got orders from Apple to start producing some key components.

The publication didn't reveal what key components these tech vendor would be producing at Far East Asian factories. Samsung, South Korea's biggest vendor is no more producing display panels used in the upcoming iPhone 5S. Apple shares rather hate relationship with Samsung after patent spat.

Apple could use Sharp made IGZO display: a superior LCD panel with that resolution of 2560 x 1600 at 498ppi. Back in January, Sharp demonstrated prototypes using IGZO display at CES. The upcoming display technology is touted as the next-generation display tech with up to 90 per cent more power efficient than compared to conventional LCD display. Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets was also turned up for Sharp event.

"Even after turning off the power of a device, IGZO allows the image to continue to be displayed on the screen," He [Brain White] also said that Apple is a "prime candidate "to adopt IGZO display in future device. Now its start appearing that how true was Mr. White back in January.
