Its been only a month since the release of iPhone 5 in India and so soon talks regarding its successor - iPhone 5S have started circulating on the web. Pegged for a 2013 launch, the handset is tipped to enter mass production in Q1 next year.
Recently, the tech world saw the first images of the seventh generation iPhone 5S has started appearing on the web showing the prototype hardware, logic panel and casing of the upcoming iPhone 5S.
What all could the iPhone 5S boast as far as its specs and design are concerned? Below are a few speculations by KnowYourMobile regarding the different aspects of the iPhone 5 successor.
Design & Display
The image leak reveals that Apple might follow the strategy of design as it did with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, thereby employing a unibody design with a 4 inch display as in the iPhone 5.
Moreover, as several handsets have started incorporating 1080p displays, Apple might also implement the same in order to stay competitive. If Apple does so, the seventh generation iPhone might have a 4 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1917 x 1080 pixels.
So far, there is nothing known about the specs of the iPhone 5S, but the handset could be based on quad core ARM Cortex A15, which is the recent offering. As many Android heavyweights are already making use of such quad core chips with A15 processor, Apple also has a reason to shift to that bandwagon.
When it comes to the 2013 smartphone trend, not only 1080p displays seem to emerge, but also 13MP rear cameras seem to become extremely prevalent in the next year. Due to this reason, Apple is speculated to equip a 12MP rear camera with Sony Exmor RS lens on the iPhone 5S.
Updated and Improved iOS 7
While the Cupertino based tech giant unveiled the iPhone 5 based on iOS 6, there were widespread issues from the consumers and tech experts regarding the OS. Going by the usual Apple strategy, the company could release a new operating system - iOS 7 along with the next iPhone with improved features and performance.
An earlier report from China's Commercial Times has claimed that Apple will begin 'trial production of a new version of its iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S, in December with initial production volumes likely to top 50,000 - 100,000 units. Obviously, the upcoming iPhone 5S will be the upgraded version of iPhone 5 in terms of features, performance and sales volume.
Hope that iPhone 5S comes with all new updated features including the ones that were missing in its predecessor including NFC, Retina Display and more.
