Apple iPhone At 15K!
Till now one particular manufacturer remained unfazed by all these competition and that was Apple who was enjoying perhaps a monopoly with its iPhone series. No other Smartphone sold as well as the iPhone. Apple did not care to cater to the needs of the customer because they were confident that buyers would flock to buy their handsets because of its uniqueness.
But with the rise in popularity of Smartphones from the likes of Nokia and Samsung and with the Android OS gaining significant advantage with rise in number of sales recently Apple has been planning on restructuring its criteria in order to increase the company"s customer base.
For the first time they are willing to listen to the needs of the people and make a product that suits everyone. This fact became a talking point worldwide when a Website reported that Apple is currently working to produce the cheapest iPhone yet and it hopes to release the variant by the end of this fiscal itself.
The company has finally understood the potential of the prepaid market and we expect this phone to be coming without an operator bundling a notion we have not seen from Apple in the past.
Android OS is currently available in a large price band which makes it the choice of many as it is intuitive and the phone which runs it is also affordable. They have presence from the lower region of the price band and goes all the way up to the epitome. However Apple has not been able to do so.
With the new release Apple hopes to become closer to the masses and it seems that the company has finally agreed that the masses determine the business and not the elite that now form majority of Apple"s customer base.
The released info on the website does not give out any detailed description of the product but everyone expects it to be the iPhone 3GS variant. With the iPhone 5 already announced in the top category and the iPhone 4 doing well in the mid range category, the iPhone 3GS will be a good entry level participant from Apple. Thus the company can have presence in 3 different mobile categories.
Cheaper iPhone is expected to cost around Rs 15000 and we will have to wait and see what will happen when it finally hit stores.
