Jivi Launches JSP 20: India's Cheapest Android Smartphone at Rs 1,999
While the Android vs iOS war wages on, both of them have their favorable points over the other. In terms of Android, it's a major boost that it can support so many handsets at varied price ranges. And the newest handset maker to make full use of it is Jivi.
Apparently, Jivi has made a sort of record by today unveiling what has been tagged as the country's cheapest Android handset. The new Jivi JSP 20 has arrived in the market with a price tag of Rs. 1,999. And that's as cheap as it gets in recent times.

The Jivi JSP 20, currently the lowest priced Android smartphone in India, has primarily been targeted at feature-phone users that are looking to make a jump into the smartphone sector for the first-time ever.
"Prime Minister's digital India vision envisages citizens accessing e-services on highly affordable mobile devices. We are supporting his vision of a smartphone in every hands by 2019 by shattering the price barrier," said Pankaj Anand, Jivi Mobiles.

"While, the spec sheet may not be attractive, the Jivi JSP 20 simply aims to connect masses to the Internet. We will introduce more smartphones with better specs very soon at a price of under Rs. 5,000," Anand added.
Jivi JSP 20: Highlighted Specifications
The new Jivi JSP 20 comes with a 3.5-inch OGS capacitive display at a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The smartphone runs on a 1GHz processor, although it offers quite the dated Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system.
The handset has a 2MP rear camera with flash support, and offers 256 MB internal storage that's expandable up to another 32 GB via microSD card. It has 128MB of RAM, and is juiced by a 1350 mAh battery unit. Apart from that, there's support for dual SIM (G+G) functionality, WiFi and Bluetooth.
While the Jivi JSP 20 is available exclusively at Amazon.in, the handset will start shipping from September 25. However, interested buyers pre-ordering the Jivi JSP 20 before September 24 will get a flip cover for free.
