Josh Mobiles has recently launched a new low budget smartphone called the Josh Fortune Square. The handset is priced at just Rs. 2,999 and can be considered as the cheapest Android phone that you can buy at the moment.
Going by the specs, the Josh Fortune Square adopts the traditional candybar form factor and features the standard home, menu and back capacitive keys. It might disappoint a lot of Android device users as it comes with an outdated specs. However, coming up with the smartphone at this price range, it is not a bad attempt either.
Josh Fortune Square comes packed with a 3.5 inch screen which offers a resolution of 480×320 pixels. The handset runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS which is quite an old version when compared to the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
It is powered by 1GHz single core processor coupled with 256MB RAM. While the users will find an internal storage capacity of 100MB along with a microSD card slot which supports up to 32GB of additional storage.
When it comes to connectivity options, it doesn't support 3G networks. But it supports Wi-Fi, 2G and Bluetooth. Josh Mobiles has also offered a dual SIM (GSM+GSM) support to the handset.
There is a 2MP rear camera with fixed focus and digital zoom. The handset is powered by 1450 mAh battery which is capable of delivering standby time of up to 4 hours.
The entry level smartphone will be available soon on the official Josh mobiles website in white color. The handset features a decent set of specifications considering its price.
