June Blues : Where's LG Optimus G2, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean?
LG, the South Korean giant is slowly and gradually making its smartphone portfolio at par with other tech vendors. Last year, LG has come with Nexus 4 and Optimus G to combat Samsung Galaxy S3. This year, the makers added another great phone - LG Optimus G Pro to muscle Galaxy Note 2. It's a large sized phablet with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and comes with amazing quad-core processor.

LG produced Nexus 4 device and it was a success. It is now being speculated that the company is working on the successor to the device. However, both Google and LG are yet to comment on Nexus 5 and its existence. There were reports, which were saying that LG was coming up with Optimus G2 on May 30. The venue was Macau, Hong Kong. Later, it was revealed that LG Hong Kong announced Optimus G Pro.
The LG Optimus G2 is not out yet, but its alleged images (via @evleaks) were circulated on the web till last month. The device had an edge-to-edge display, thing bezels and no navigation buttons. During the time of leak, it was said that LG could be making another Nexus handset on the lines of Optimus G2. The Korean Times also reported in regards to "Nexus 5".
"Currently, the consumer electronics arm of LG Group is working with Internet-giant Google to make another Nexus-branded Google Android smartphone."
The Nexus 5 could arrive in late October, as by multiple -reports. And there is no doubt about the existence if Nexus 5. Whether Google is working with LG again for another Nexus device is still a mystery. It is speculated to arrive with Android 5.0 or Kay Lime Pie.
The LG Optimus G2 is coming this year, but when? Earlier this year, LG's Mobile Vice President, EU, Wong Kim, accepted to the fact that they are planning to launch Optimus G2 in Q3.( via AllAboutPhone.nl)
"The LG Optimus G2 is coming in Q3, yes. We don't want to hide everything but similarly we don't want to promote everything about the G2 in advance. To some extent we have to tease the features and specifications through channels, it is somewhat premature for me to talk about the G2 in terms of specifications. G2 is going to be something different, something unique and we have needed to be very creative... There is something unnamed that is a G2."
Last month, Google organized Google I/O 2013. It's the biggest developers meet to discuss new things coming from company's R&D lab. It was said that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean would finally be seen on Nexus 4 and Nexus 7. The Android 5.0 will be announced with Moto X phone, so for the mean time Android 4.3 Jelly Bean would be announced at the conference.
GizBot tried to confirm the existence of new version of Android from Indian tech vendors. Some of them came in open to accept the existence of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, while other preferred to stay mum.
It's June, neither Android 4.3 Jelly Bean could be seen nor LG's Optimus G2 is visible anywhere. No one really knows , when one can expect to see Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Optimus G2 live! Stay tuned to GizBot.
