Followed by Spice Dream Uno and the Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V is the third Android One smartphone to get the Lollipop 5.1 update Over-the-Air (OTA). The Android 5.1 adds several tweaks and features. Android 5.1 Lollipop update comes with a size of 409.8MB, which is similar to that of the Spice Dream UNO and the Micromax Dream Uno.

Talking about the new Karbonn handset in this regard, the new Sparkle V Red, priced at Rs. 6,399 via Snapdeal, comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with 480 x 854 pixels. It runs on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS and offers specs that are better than your average budget handset.
The handset is powered by 1GB of RAM, and while there is no mention on the processor, it is likely to be a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core SoC. The Karbonn Sparkle also includes 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 4GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and a 1,700mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
On the other hand, Lollipop update comes with new material design which offers a bold, colorful and responsive UI, refreshing notification system. It will also allow the users to see the notification in the lock screen and they will get displayed like banners on the top of the screen.
Additionally, there is a do-not-disturb feature added to the notification bar. This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery Historian, which tracks the battery consumption by an application.
