Budget quad core CPU phablets enthrusted with Android Jelly Bean mobile operating system is becoming a vogue in Indian smartphone business. Following on the same lines, Karbonn has launched several smartphones at budget friendly price tags, which includes A3, A4 and A6.
Nevertheless, the India based vendor has made it clear that it is not only bound to launch budget oriented entry-level smartphones, but also high-end devices. Last week, Karbonn launched a quad core Jelly Bean phablet online - Titanium S5, which was spotted on Snapdeal at a price of Rs 11,990. Now, the company has launched the phablet officially at the same price of Rs 11,990 in India.
Detailing on the specs, Titanium S5 boasts a 5 inch qHD multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a 2,000 mAh battery. As of now, there is no word on the internal storage support, but it is expected to be around 4GB as in other budget phablets.
Karbonn Titanium S5 - Micromax Canvas HD Rival?
With the enormous success and popularity of Micromax Canvas HD, almost all the companies have started coming up with quad core Jelly Bean phablets and smartphones at budget price points.
As far as specs are concerned, Canvas HD houses a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery. Further, the Micromax phablet is priced at Rs 13,990 offering value for money.
With similar specifications and a lesser price tag, Karbonn Titanium S5 could be a stiff competitor to Canvas HD.
