Lava 3G 356, 3G 402 Launched at Rs 4499 and Rs 5499: Comparison With 5 Direct Competitors

Back in June, GizBot informed you that Lava will announce an affordable dual-core smartphone under Rs. 5,000. Recently, Lava 3G 356 and 3G 402, were spotted on company's official site. Now the makers have finally decided to launch above mentioned low-cost Android handsets.

The company is promoting 3G connectivity feature built-in these smartphones. The official press release reads "the best possible 3G mobile experience at an affordable price to the consumers who like staying connected to social media and accessing the Internet. Through its feature rich 3G smartphones Lava aims to help the existing 2G users to upgrade to 3G technology, essentially bring the fastest internet access to the masses."

The Lava 3G 356 and 3G 402 are uniquely designed smartphones which lets a consumer enjoy the power of 3G by consuming online content" , as per Hari Om Rai, Co-Founder & Director, Lava International Ltd.

"Internet usage is increasing rapidly in non-metro cities, with more people using internet through mobile devices. As 3G enabled handsets become affordable, mobile internet would be the next big thing in the country which would take penetration to the remote corners of the country. Lava is aiming to drive huge volumes with both models combined", he further added.

In the specifications front, Lava 3G 402 comes with a 4-inch WVGA display having resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It packs a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor coupled with 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). The phone supports dual SIM phone and 3G connectivity. There's a 3-mega pixel rear facing camera on the back and on the front VGA quality camera is given.

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. The handset measures 11.4mm in terms of thickness and weighs including 124grams battery. The makers have added a 1,500mAh Li Ion battery inside. The Lava 3G 402 is priced at Rs. 5499. Users can choose the phone in three colors: White, Grey and Red.

On the other hand, Lava 3G 356 packs a 3.5-inch HVGA display (480 x 320). The phone is powered with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). There's a 1.3-mega pixel camera along with 3G connectivity, dual SIM, 1,500mAh Li Ion battery, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The device is now available in three colors: White, Black and Grey. Asking price - Rs. 4,499.
