Indian handset manufacturer Lava, has rolled out the Lollipop 5.0 update for the Iris Fuel 50 smartphone, followed by Iris X1 Grand. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Iris Fuel 50 is available over-the-air (OTA).

Users can also check manually by going to Menu → Settings→ About Phone → System Updates and check for the update, which will download it automatically.

Reiterating the specifications of the mobile, Iris Fuel 50 sports a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) touch screen IPS display. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

The Iris Fuel 50 houses 8GB of internal memory, which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. This Lava device runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.

In the imaging section, the latest offering from Lava features an 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI 2 sensor and at the front, users will see a 2MP front-facing snapper.

Connectivity options include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and it is a Dual SIM smartphone with dual standby.

On the other hand, Lollipop update comes with new material design which offers a bold, colorful and responsive UI, refreshing notification system.

It will also allow the users to see the notification in the lock screen and they will get displayed like banners on the top of the screen. Additionally, there is a do-not-disturb feature added to the notification bar.

This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery Historian which tracks the battery consumption by an application.
