Since past week, Lava has been boasting about its upcoming Iris series on its social Facebook and Twitter page under the theme ‘Art meets Smart.' Finally today the native smartphone vendor has launched the premium Iris Pro 30 at a price of Rs 15,999.
Lava with their XOLO and IRIS range of phones showed impressive gains with a 4.7 percent market share in the third quarter of 2013 and now with the new Lava Iris Pro 30 announce to hit the market shelves in January third week (withing 3 days), the company plans to eat some more market share of its rivals.

Display and Dimension
The new Iris Pro 30 flaunts a sleek dimension at 138 x 66.7 x 7.5mm and a weight of 114 gms (with battery). The screen size is 4.7 inch IPS display with LCM500 brightness, OGS technology, HD resolution (1280x720) and pixel density of 312 ppi. The full touch panel is also protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass.
Lava Iris Pro 30 is a premium Android Smartphone running on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS with Over the Air Software upgrades. The new Android 4.2.2 will bring added features to the phone including Android Beam, new gallery app animations, Daydream screensaver mode, lock screen widgets, new notification bar, Google Now, Google Voice Search, Face Unlock and more.
Processor Power and RAM
Lava has announced that the phone will come powered by 1.2 GHz Quad Core Processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and and SGX 544 GPU, which will let the user do multitasking better at a single go.
Well, there is an 8 MP rear camera with Dual LED Flash and auto focus, along with a 3 megapixel front facing shooter. The camera also features a Blue glass filter in it along with features like digital zoom, face detection, four-directional panoramic view and 1080p video recording at 30fps.
Lava Iris Pro 30 is a dual SIM phone and other connectivity options include Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB v2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPRS, EDGE. As per the company press release, Lava Iris pro 30 also comes with quad band support that enables it to work in Americas, Asia and Europe.
Also there are Accelerometer, Proximity Sensors, Noise cancellation with dual mike, internet features include Google Talk,YouTube,Gmail,Google Search,Google Play and other preloaded apps of Google
The phone comes with some innovative software features as well, such as flip to mute, lift to answer and call, video PIP, voice and face unlocking. The device is OTG enabled which allows it to directly read data from pen drives and receive inputs from keyboard or mouse.
The latest Iris Pro 30 houses a 4GB internal storage capacity (2.43 GB user accessible) and 32GB microSD card slot is available for external storage.
The phone packs a 2000mAh battery with CABC (Content Adaptive backlight control) technology that enables it to last 30% more compared to conventional smartphone batteries. The technology intensifies the black and reduces the shadow to increase the transmission of the LCD display giving a sharp image while turning down the backlight to save battery.
The phone promises to offer a talktime of 7.5 hours in 2G network and 4.5 hours on 3G. It would offer 400 hours of standby time and the device comes with a year of manufacturer's warranty.
Apart from these the company has also announced that it will come up with a Full HD smartphones within the upcoming 2 or 3 months.
