Xolo Q800 Launched Online at Rs 12499: Top 3 Quad Core Jelly Bean Rivals to the New Lava Handset
Indian mobile phone manufacturers have been getting a lot of well earned attention with their product announcements these days. Reason being, their budget offerings include best and latest specifications and features at reasonable price points.

One such manufacturer Xolo, which is a sub-brand of Lava is also constantly launching numerous smartphones at budget prices. Recently, the maufacturer is in talks for its quad core and Jelly Bean OS smartphone, dubbed as Xolo Q800, which is claimed to come with all the necessary high-end features next week.
While, Lava is already posting teaser on its official Facebook page of the upcoming mobile phone every second day, which is rumored to come with Intel Clover Trail + processor, another handset Xolo Q800 has aready been spotted online at Flipkart at Rs 12,499.
Speaking of specs, Xolo Q800 will come with a 4.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, 1.2MP front camera for video calling, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 32GB expandable memory with a micro SD card slot, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.
Although, the brand new Xolo Q800 has already encountered an online launch, the Indian market is already filled with many affordable handsets featuring similar specifications. All possible display sizes ranging from 3 inches to 5.5 inches have been launched packed with beefed up specs. Some of the vendors have also started incorporating quad core smartphones on their devices moving ahead from dual core in order to offer increases performance.

Micromax launched its first quad core Jelly Bean phablet - A116 Canvas HD recently, which was pre ordered crazily by the Indian crowd. Housing a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, the Canvas HD is powered by 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and a 2,100 mAh battery.
Canvas HD is priced higher at Rs 13,990 and comes with a better display with HD support and will also receive an Android 4.2 update very soon. However, its opponent, Lava Xolo Q800 comes with a better from camera. Hence, they both can be considered as tough challengers in the smartphone market.
Karbonn Smart Titanium 1
In the beginning of 2013, Karbonn Mobiles launched a quad core dual SIM Jelly Bean smartphone featuring a 4.5 inch qHD multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution, 1.2GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Yes the talk is about, Karbonn Smart Titanium 1 which also runs with 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1,600 mAh battery.
Priced at Rs 10,990, the smartphone may be cheaper, however, Xolo Q800 wins over this handset as well, based on its better camera specs boasting BSI sensor and 1.2MP front camera along with enhanced battery.
Wickedleak Wammy Passion Y HD
This week, Wickedleak also launched one such offering - Wammy Passion Y HD packing a stunning 5 inch HD IPS multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, micro USB 2.0 and a 2,800 mAh battery.
Wammy Passion Y HD is priced at Rs 16,999, which is higher than Xolo Q800 and comes with a better battery and a larger display with HD resolution. Hence, they both can be potential rivals in the market.
