Lenovo IdeaPhone P700i Available at Rs 11,900: How Does it Stack up Against Micromax A90S Pixel?
Indian smartphone arena is witnessing a slew of budget dual SIM smartphone launches from several domestic and global handset manufacturers. The budget conscious market trend has started taking these low cost handsets to an all new level.
As the competition gets tougher, Lenovo, the leading PC manufacturer has launched five new smartphones all the strengths and equations that might help the manufacturer to outshine and occupy the position of leading smartphone vendor in the nation, especially, by combining quality and pricing factor.
One such smartphone - IdeaPhone P700i, which was unveiled in November has now reached the Indian shores as Snapdeal.com, an online retailer has listed the handset at Rs 11,900, while it is priced at Rs 12,499.
While Lenovo is the leading PC manufacturer, Micromax the dominant tablet vendor in India, who has surpassed Apple and Samsung in that segment in the Q2 of 2012 has also come up with several smartphones. A90S Pixel is a second generation Android ICS smartphone for the vendor with a price tag of Rs 12,990.
As Lenovo entered the Indian smartphone arena, it is wise to compare it with thje Micromax offering with similar specs and price tag. Below is a comparison on the same. Read it before you decide to buy one of them.
Dimensions & Weight: P700i carries a dimension of 125.6 x 64.6 x 12.8 mm and weighs in at 162 grams as compared to A90S Pixel with a dimension of 127.2 x 66.8 x 9.8 mm and weigh of around 118 grams.
Display: When it comes to the display, P700i packs a 4 inch 4 point multi-touch capacitive display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution, whereas, A90S sports a 4.3 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.
Processor: In this segment, P700i and A90S are equipped with an 1GHz dual core processor.
Operating System: When it comes to the OS, both the smartphones are flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Camera: In terms of camera optics, P700i has a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera for video calling. In comparison, A90S Pixel has an 8MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera for video calling purposes.
Storage: When it comes to storage, both the handsets have 4GB internal storage, 512MB and a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory.
Connectivity: In terms of data connectivity, smartphones have 3G, Bluetooth, GPS with aGPS, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi features.
Battery: P700i is loaded with a 2,500 Li-ion battery offering up to 22 hours talktime and 13 days standby, whereas, A90S Pixel is equipped with a 1,600 mAh Li-ion battery delivering 5 hours talk time and 174 hours standby.
Price: When it comes to pricing, Lenovo P700i and A90S Superfone Pixel are priced at Rs 12,499 and Rs 12,990 respectively.
Verdict
Both the Lenovo P700i and Micromax A90S Pixel are dual SIM Android ICS smartphones with pretty decent specifications.
Detailing on the Lenovo offering, the handset comes packed with Lenovo's Smart Energy - a tool that helps maximize
the battery life by constantly by learning the usage pattern.
On the other hand, the Micromax offering is preloaded with several applications including Facebook, Google Play store and Micromax's instant messaging app - Hook Up.
If the concern is on a high battery capacity and lesser price tag, Lenovo P700i could be a better option.
However, for those concerned on good rear camera performance and better touch response, the Micromax offering could the right choice.
