Lenovo to Hold Smartphone Launch Event in India on February 11: Vibe Z Coming?
In a recent developments, Lenovo payed $2.91 billion in cash and stock to Google for Motorola, and the Chinese manufacturer now has high hopes from the mobile maker to compete against Samsung and Apple. Reportedly, Lenovo expects to sell 100 million smartphone within a year, but before manufacturing Motorola range the company is looking towards launching its CES 2014 range in India and other emerging countries.
GizBot has just received an exclusive invite from the company for the launch of a new Lenovo phone in the market. The event is scheduled for February 11 in Bangalore and February 12 in New Delhi. Looks like, Lenovo is all set to launch Samsung Galaxy Note 3 competitor Vibe Z in the market.

Lenovo Vibe Z
Lenovo Vibe Z is a 5.5-inch FHD smartphone featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor under the hood. Also, it is the first phone from Lenovo with 4G LTE connectivity. The phone is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core processor Snapdragon 800 SoC, backed by 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The device also has a 13-megapixel rear-facing shooter featuring f/1.8 aperture, making the camera decent enough to deliver awesome images on every possible occasion. The front-facing camera, a 5-megapixel shooter, comes with the wide-angle lens. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. Other connectivity features include: 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and up to 33 hours' talk time, 27 days' standby from embedded 3000 mAh battery.
At the same time, there is a possibility that Lenovo might launch other smartphones which the company unveiled ahead of CES 2014 held in January in Las Vegas. These include Lenovo S930, S650 and A859.
Lenovo S930
Coming to specs, Lenovo S930 is a 6-inch giant phablet having a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and made out of polycarbonate plastic. Under the hood, it will come powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor powered by MediaTek MT6582, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded via a microSD card slot. For shooting memorable moments, the phone incorporates an 8-megpixel shooter with Auto Focus and an LED Flash, while a 1.8MP camera should be apt for taking selfies. The makers have added a 3,000mAh battery fitted inside. Other connectivity options include: Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, Bluetooth 3.0, Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, FM Radio and GPS.
Lenovo S650
This is a budget centric with 4.7-inch display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory with expandable storage, Dual SIM, 8MP rear-facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash, front facing camera and a 2,000mAh battery.
Lenovo A859
Well this one is a serious competitor to the Motorola Moto G. The Lenovo A859 features a 5-inch 720p HD display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal memory with expandable storage, , 8MP rear-facing camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash, front facing shooter and a 2,2500mAh battery. The phone does come with dual SIM feature.
GizBot contacted Lenovo to find out which phone is the tech firm planning to launch, however the company officials remain tight-lipped. They just said it's a 'premium phone' launch.
