Lenovo To Roll-Out KitKat Update for Six Smartphones in India Starting This Week
China-based smartphone maker Lenovo has been exploring the Indian market pretty intensely. The company has already launched its high-end Vibe series in India and today the company has officially announced the KitKat update to its affordable S series of smartphones.

Moreover, the company will be releasing the Android 4.4 KitKat update for six of its mid-range smartphones in the Indian market. The smartphones which are set to receive the update are S930, S650, S820, S920, S660 and P780, which is known for its battery pack.
Sudhin Mathur, Director- Smartphone, Lenovo India, said, "After rolling out updates for Vibe Z, Vibe X and S860 last month, we are now bringing Android 4.4 to six of our mid-range smartphones at various price points. These updates are poised to take the user experience of these phone to a different level. In the last two years in India, we have grown leaps and bounds launching over 18 smartphones, each addressing specific user requirement, and we aim to continue this growth trajectory with newer models and iterations."
Moreover, Lenovo also said that the KitKat update will bring the same user-interface to the six smartphones, which is present in the company's Vibe-series smartphones. The smartphones will also get Premium DOit apps, which include SECUREit, SHAREit, and SYNCit.
The update brings better application compatibility and security enhancements and bug fixes, and the UI gets a new simple clutter free look and a user friendly incoming call interface. The efficient auto focus and white balance capabilities ensure better camera experience with clearer, sharper, vividly rich and vibrant images. The upgrade will also boost Lenovo power manager for improved battery utilization. The update also incorporate features such as the face orientation rotation feature, the smart call feature, smart swipe, pocket mode, parental mode and the smart dialer.
According to the company, the update will roll-out later this week and will continue in a phased manner until September.
