Lenovo To Unveil Super Thin Handset Vibe X At IFA 2013 Today
Tonight, Lenovo is gearing up for a few launches at IFA 2013, Berlin. Among these, we're looking forward to the Vibe X, which happens to be a sleek new flagship from the company. We've seen smartphones getting slimmer and slimmer by the day, but the Lenovo Vibe X should give them all a run for their money with its size-zero design. Have a look at the phone and you'll wonder if the word 'slim' does justice to its ultra sleek design.
Despite making it close to paper thin, Lenovo has managed to load the handset with some solid hardware, leaving it with an enviable spec sheet.
First of is its wonderful 5-inch Full HD IPS display with 1920×1080 resolution, that churns out 440 pixels per inch. All this is carefully sealed under a solid slab of Gorilla Glass 3. Measure the devices and its 6.9mm in thickness, almost causing our eyes to pop as we stared at our electronic scale. There's a 13MP auto-focus, rear facing camera with LED flash and a back-illuminated sensor. Up front, you'll fine a nice little 5MP front-facing camera. It comes with a wide-angle 84-degree lens, pushing the envelope as far as front-facing cameras in phones are concerned.
This minuscule monster might not look like much of a power house, but it uses a solid Quad-core MediaTek MTK 6589T processor clocked 1.5GHz along with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal storage There's Android 4.2 Jelly Bean preloaded along with very few careful and compassionate UI changes from Lenovo's.
Lenovo will continue with its tradition of loading in a few useful custom apps, This time you'll find apps for sharing pictures, videos and even documents. There will also be a nifty little back-up and restore app along with a pre-loaded custom Facebook app.
Here's the not-so-good news. The phone won't be available in most markets worldwide for a limited period. Lenovo has stated that the device will be available in China starting October and other markets wheres its phones are sold in December(We're guessing that it includes that means India as well). And here's the worst part, the device will not be setting foot on European shores.
