Lenovo Vibe X: Super Thin Flagship Smartphone Announced with 5 Inch Full HD Display

Lenovo's K900 wasn't able to mark big impact on consumers. That doesn't mean Lenovo has stopped making high-end smartphones. At the ongoing IFA tech show in Berlin, the Chinese tech vendor shows off Vibe X, a smartphone having a 5-inch Full HD display, quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and a 13MP camera.

Along with Vibe X, Lenovo also announced that the K900 will be made available in 32GB capacity. Lenovo says the Vibe X is a premium socked smartphone packing " twin camera technology " and brilliant display. The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean powered handset comes with a 1.5GHz quad-core processor instead of rumored Snapdragon 800 chipset.

Moreover, the phone is made of premium quality plastic materials. We're told that Lenovo Vibe X is coming to India "very soon" and it could be made available at Rs. 35,000. Lenovo India is also launching K900 with 32GB of internal memory at Rs. 30,000. Now, Lenovo has officially launched Vibe X, let's have a look at the internal specifications of the device alongside highlighted features.

Display and Design

Lenovo Vibe X is a pure bliss, if one considers its size and gorgeous 5-inch Full HD display. The device weighs 121 grams and weighs 6.9mm thick. The phone is still made of polycarbonate plastic; however, the quality is decent. The display is scratch resistant - all thanks to Gorilla Glass 3.

Processor, RAM and OS

The Vibe X houses a 1.5GHz quad-core processor (MediaTek SoC) coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. Well, looking at the specifications Vibe X is certainly a premium phone by all standards. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. Lenovo is yet to comment upon the upgradability to Android 4.3m Jelly Bean mobile OS.

Camera and related apps

The Lenovo K900 comes with terrific 13MP rear facing camera. With the coming of Vibe X, Lenovo continues to churn impeccably perfect imaging experience. The 13MP camera sensor is backed by "illuminated sensor ". Moreover, there's a 5MP front facing camera with wide-angle 84 degree lens. Lenovo is also bundling photo apps in the device, making the whole experience more enjoyable.

Battery

The Lenovo Vibe X is stuffed with a 2,000mAh Li Ion battery. The press release does not mention whether internal battery is removable or not. We're keeping a tab on this feature.

Connectivity options

The Vibe X packs most basic connectivity options you all need to use in daily lives. The phone comes with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, FM Radio and more.

Competition

Lenovo's Vibe X is a solid phone with above average features and specs. The phone is competing with Sony Xperia Z, Alcatel One Touch Idol X, Samsung Galaxy S4, and ZTE Grand S. The success of Vibe X is largely dependent upon its retail price. Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates.
